The Javelin Class is a 17.7-foot dinghy designed by Peter Milne in 1968. The boat is different from the first. It is designed with plenty of sail area and a single trapeze. The boat is actively raced in the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands.
The Javelin is a very fast two-handed racing dinghy with conventional spinnaker and crew trapeze. Its large sail area and ultra-lightweight hull gives the Javelin amazing acceleration and allows it to exceed speeds of 25 knots, giving an exhilarating "ride" and exciting fleet racing for the expert, National and International level sailors in the Club.
The Javelin is a restricted development class, which offers close exciting racing at a very affordable price. The Javelin is a lightweight boat, and carries a large sail area for its size. This combination makes the Javelin a very exciting boat to race and sail.
